Come and See the Light!
            Today is the Second Sunday in Epiphany.  During Epiphany we celebrate that Jesus (the Light of the World) is revealed to the world and in the world.  The object most symbolic of this is the star and the light it shines: from the star of the Magi to Jesus the Morning Star. 
            We light the candles on our Epiphany star @M to remind us of this truth.  The three tall candles in the middle of the star represent the gifts of the magi – Gold (yellow candle), frankincense (white candle) and Myrrh (green candle).  
            We also light a light green candle today to represent the Fig Tree under which Jesus meets Nathanael and calls the disciples.  Green symbolizes the color of growth and represents Jesus’ ministry growing in numbers as he calls the disciples as well as the growth of their/our faith as we follow Jesus where he leads us.

Adult Choir @ M
Please remember that for the next couple of months (pending further notice), the Adult Choir for Messiah will be practicing on Wednesdays at 1pm.  Please join us if you’re able – new members welcome at any time.  

Snow Camp Info – Snow Camp Forms were sent to each confirmand prior to Christmas.  They are due back into the office TODAY. If there is anyone (confirmand or otherwise) who would like to go to Snow Camp and did not receive forms, please let Pastor Will know as soon as possible.

Giving Statements Ready at Messiah
Please pick up your 2011 Giving Statements found in the narthex. They are in sealed envelopes with your name on the outside.  Thank you being cheerful givers to God.

There will be a New Orleans Sr. High Youth meeting on Sunday, February 5th after late worship (12) @ M. Please plan on coming. We need to check in and make plans for late winter/spring.

Laurel Mountain Mission Team – Soup PickUp
Soup ordered from the Laurel Mountain Mission Team may be picked up on this Saturday, January 21st at Messiah.  Times for pick up will be between 9am and 11am. 

Reminder:  The cost for the soup is $5 per quart (either kind).  Payment due at pickup.
