There are many ways in which you can get involved in the ministry at the New Centerville Lutheran Parish. These are a few of the opportunities that await you in our churches. We also have additional activities for both the adults and youth of the congregation.
In FellowshipEach month, the pastor leads a topical bible study seeking God's direction and wisdom for our life as disciples. We look at the biblical story, study the scripture, and look for applications to everyday life.
DinnersWe love to eat and partake in God's bounty and harvest. Throughout the year there are many chances to setup, cook, and eat at special dinners including:
Working together with partner congregations to address the business and life concerns of the church, community, and world. We are about the business of spreading the Gospel and strengthening the place of God's kingdom in our community.
Service CommitteeProvide visitation ministry to shut-ins, those who are hospitalized, and those who are in need.
Tape MinistryDeliver tapes of Sunday Worship and sometimes flowers to shut-in members of our Congregation.
Quilting GroupA group of ladies meets for the purpose of quilting, fellowship, and service. Quilts are donated for various needs: for baptisms, for graduating seniors, for Lutheran World Relief, for Camp Sequanota and other fundraisers. (times and locations vary).
Share your love of worship by helping take care of our sanctuary, the altar, its ornaments, and vestments. Opportunities include preparing and setting up for: Holy Communion, weekly worship, baptisms, weddings, funerals and many others.
Lay ReadersShare your love of reading aloud by presenting God's word to your fellow members in the weekly reading of scripture during worship.
AcolyteHelping out in worship by lighting candles and assisting in communion. (this role is typically filled by the youth of the Parish).
Adult ChoirAnyone who loves to sing is welcome. Rehearsal from September - May each Wednesday evening at 7:30pm at Messiah.
Organ / Piano PlayingShare your love of music with your fellow members of the congregation by playing the organ and/or piano during weekly worship services.
Worship Planning TeamThis is a group that has quarterly meetings to pick worship themes and hymns for each upcoming church season.
